My condensation problem solved in ford fiesta 08 plate

Featured Replies

I had a problem with severe condensation on the inside of all my windows. When I say severe I mean that the windows were dripping wet. I came onto this forum for some answers and found that there were quite a few posts with the same problem but none really told me how to solve the issue. The cowl was coming away from the windscreen and needed the be resealed so that was a job that was put on my to do list.  A few weeks ago we had days of torrential rain. When the rain stopped I decided to clean the car and remove the condensation from the inside of the windows. Imagine my horror when I saw about 7 inches of water in the rear footwells of my car. I got out most of the water with a wet and dry vacuum and then proceeded to reseal the cowl to the windscreen. Once I removed the wiper arms and the cowl I discovered that underneath the cowl there is a black box on the right hand side which was filled to the top with water. I searched for the outlet and found it to be totally blocked. I unblocked it and resealed the cowl back into place. It took some time for the car to dry out and now the car is totally condensation free. The black box outlet can be unblocked without taking the cowl off but searching for it without prior knowledge of where it is will be a task but it could be found if you look long and hard enough. It may not be the solution to everybody's condensation problem but it may be worth looking at.
