54 Plate Heat Shield Problem

Hi all first post and after some advice needed please. My wifes' 54 Fiesta 1.25 has developed a rattle from the back box heatshield , I had a look and it appears all the spotwelds have given way , it is just sitting on top of the backbox . So my question is it ok to get someself tappers and refix it to parts of the chassis ? many thanks for all replies in advance
