heated windscreen

Featured Replies

hi everyone,

the Heated windscreen in my 08 fiesta ghia isn't working correctly.

when the screen is frozen over, i start the engine of the car and press the button for the heated windscreen. The light on the button illuminates as if it is working but then the light cuts out after about 10-15 seconds. The screen never heats and so never clears. Ive read quite a few posts about fuses but would this be the case if the heated screen seems to activate, all be it for a very short time?

any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated, especially in the current weather we are having.

Ah yes the fuses !!!

The work of Satan himself. Complicated little things often with a mind of their own. A prime example is the indicator fuse, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It's like it just can't decide to be on or off.

Have you got a multimeter ?

Measure the battery terminal voltage 1 hour after you park the car. What reading do you get ?
