Pipecross Induction Kit Vs. K&n Cone

Featured Replies

Hey,

I have just recently purchased my new fiesta 1.6 Ti-VCT and I must say - Im luvin it!

Wanted to do a Mountune or Pumaspeed upgrades, but the price quotation I got from a dealer here in Slovakia was 1,500£ (Which is "bit too much" for 20hp increase imo.)

Thus, I'v decided to upgrade my air intake system before I do any other upgrades. I stand between two options here:

1. K&N cone together with a Heat shield

or

2. Pipecross I.K. together with a K&N panel

In both cases, I'm planing to replace the air induction tube for samco one.

From my pow. the first alternative (money-wise) seems to be the best one. However, I am tempted by the 2nd option as well (will need to sort the crank case exhaust by buying additional filter though).

Could you, more experienced people, give me pros and cons of these options (performance increase, engine safety) and your opinions about the final choice?

Many thanks in advance!

why buy the pipercross intake if you want the k&n panel ?

also, what difference will the induction tube make ? ( in my opinion none )

eagle_gr The pipecross intake will replace the bottom part of original air-intake box. However I am not sure whether the pipecross intake comes with its own air panel or not, thats why I'v included K&N panel (As this is my first car, these are my first steps in the field of car "tuning").

Regarding the induction tube (after reading couple of posts on these forums), I agree that it will make no difference at all to replace the original one - but I like the looks of samco ones B)

Since my yesterday's post, Im more inclining to the idea of installing a K&N cone into my car. I suppose some of you guys have the cone installed, how did you handle the crank-case exhaust?

cold air is better for the engine than hot air, so the pipercross for me.
