Cheers in advance.

The pump sounds like its running (i get the motor noise) the jet is sporadic on the front windscreen the occasional splattering and  there is nothing to the rear wash wipe jet.

Here's what I've attempted so far:

1) Needle to all jets- all are clear.

2) Disconnected jets under the bonnet and ran jets there is water to the right jet only but not forceful nothing to the left jet blew through pipework all clear both sides.

3) Syphoned the reservoir down completely. No debris in fluid blew down tube to dislodge any debris whilst partly full.

4) Refilled with warm water and 2 steradent tablets and left to settle. Brief improvement.

5) Syphoned steradant water out of reservoir completely and flushed through with water and again drained.

6) Have refilled with -10 washer fluid to see if the viscosity improves the suction.

Is there a filter between the pump and the reservoir?

My next line of investigation I really wanted to avoid if I could is taking the tyre and wheel arches off.

If i did this I wanted to have a replacement pump handy to slot in, which is why I am asking for a part number.

Any help is much appreciated.

Sounds like you've made a good effort in trying to track down the blockage, which I'm sure is at the root of your problem, as the motor is clearly spinning. I'd be surprised if the impeller had worn away in 3 years.

We're getting to the limit of my knowledge here. but I THINK there are two non return valves incorporated in the pump itself and it could be one of these that are blocked (or perhaps stuck partially open???). Either way, I'm pretty sure that they are integral in the pump so if they can't be cleared you are indeed looking at a new pump. I would normally suggest the application of a hammer at this point, but you can't get near the thing, can you, without taking half of the car apart!!!  But as you imply, once you can get to it, I would just put a new pump in.

Some of the guys on here have a) more knowledge than me and b) a parts list that should help you.

...hopefully one of them will be along soon???

I think there is a little gauze piece between the motor and pump that can easily become blocked. I would not purchase a motor, just remove the motor and cut a hole in the gauze.

Could do, but the gauze is there to prevent blockages in the tubes and jets which would be far more difficult to deal with.   I suggest that if you CAN get to the gauze to cut a hole in it, just clean it!

But once you're in there, you might decide to put a new pump in.   My local garage (not Ford dealer) which I generally trust, said that in their experience it's not worth fitting a cheap non-Ford pump, so they fitted a Ford one for me last year.

On re=reading this, I don't think the gauze is "between the motor and the pump" - that doesn't make sense.

Apologies I should have said the washer fluid reservoir and pump.

As you say cleaning the gauze makes more sense.

I am going to have a final go tomorrow with pouring a bottle of Milton Sterilising fluid into the reservoir and leaving that overnight to see if that unblocks anything.

Failing that i will attempt to unclip the arch liner and see if I can access the pump.

I have done an eBay search but only been able to find a complete reservoir and still not found an actual part number for the pump alone (see photos)

Failing that I'll have to concede defeat and take a trip to a garage, anyone got any ideas what that will cost including parts and labour.

Thanks for any help.

Around £180 ish for a genuine Ford pump fitted by a non-Ford garage.

I had similar - the intake filter on the pump was completely blocked with gunk, the only thing that fixed it was pulling the pump out of the washer bottle and physically cleaning the intake filter. Fortunately, on an st-line, it is really easy to get to the washer pump - just remove the driver side front fog light and it's right there behind it, easy access.

Quick update

Milton  Sterilising fluid has worked a treat, all jets firing at full power!

Quick query will Miltons sterilising fluid damage the cars plastics or paintwork as I've flushed it through the windscreens jets?

Thanks in advance.
