Battery Drain

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've got a Fiesta Mk7 2014 EcoBoost with EFB S/S battery that has had a battery drain issue since I've bought it in 2018 and due to it I've had to replace the battery 3 times since then so I know something is staying awake and killing the battery.

I've done a parasitic drain test and it shows about 0.1A draw and that's as low as it will go after leaving it for about 30mins to sleep. I've pulled every fuse/relay but nothing seems to drop it below 0.1A.

I thought it was the Bluetooth module staying on but that doesn't seem to be drawing any current from the test I did.

Any idea what else I could do to find the 0.1A drain? Or anyone else had a similar problem and found a solution?

Thanks

OMG !!!

Those poor Dolphins, you can expect a visit from Greta Thunberg. 😠

The car's own security system and door locking modules will take around 60mA so you're not that much over. Many things are controlled by the BCM and so they are not fused.

Yes it's very frustrating! I've read online that anything over 85mA is probably a drain issue and considering I can't get it lower than 100mA I'm kinda stuck.

Is there an easyish way to diagnose the BCM to find an issue?
