Hello friends! Does anyone know the technical name or part number for this boot lid trim?

Featured Replies

My friend has broken this trim on his boot. I assume that his boot is going to get mouldy and his licence plate bulbs will pop without it.

It doesn’t help that this model is the style and is in an uncommon type of blue.

What do I need to be searching to find this part?
Does anyone know the paint code/name for this type of blue?

I’m going to fit it for him once I have sourced one but I feel like I’m going to struggle to find one. I also need to try and keep the part cost down as he is on a type of disability benefit so he doesn’t have the money to splash out

I always thought that bit was metal! Can honestly say I've never seen a broken one before. 😳

Bless him he was reversing into a parking bay and there was an unruly branch sticking out that smashed his back window and made that hole!

personally I think someone should be liable for the damage? Whoever is in charge of the maintenance of the landscape (probably council)

Looks like a lucky find there on eBay.  Hope the couriers don’t break it in half. Hard to comment on the liability of the tree owner. Was the window dealt with by insurance? They probably wouldn’t bother using their subrogation rights to recover their outlay as its small amount to them.  I would imagine pursuing a council in such a claim would end in frustration and despair as they will most likely mess about for ever to make you lose the will to carry on and then eventually deny liability as they will know you won’t take it all the way to court as that’s too much of a gamble for an individual.
