S-Max Towbar wiring.

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have 12 s-max with rear parking sensors and I’m looking to add a Towbar. Trying to figure out the electrics is somewhat of a head melt. Universal Bypass v specific kits…..drawings looking different to what’s in the car. I’m really confused as to what’s the correct option

however, when I stuck my head under the bumber (I’ve also a problem with my parking sensors) I noticed that there is a 20+ wiring loom connected to the connector under the boot storage area. only eight cables exit this connector, six used for parking sensors and two to a spare connector.

is anyone familiar with this and could it be that the car is prewired to have a trailer connected? What is the spare two wire connector for? It was just tucked away in the bumber not connected to anything

thanks,

Ed

I’ll post photos tomorrow when I get a chance.
