Driver door sensor not working

Featured Replies

I have a 2010 ford fiesta since I've had the car the driver door sensor doesn't work, the interior light doesn't come on when door is open, no alarm if door left open, and I have accidentally worked all day and left headlights on as again no warning it's almost like it's not connecting. Door locks with no problem just doesn't seem to recognise when it's open can anyone help?

Hi Lauren, that is quite an unusual fault that you have. I assume that the interior light works as normal when you open the passenger door ?

The switch/sensor that tells the control unit that the door is open, is the same switch that is used by the alarm system to detect intrusion, also used by the door locks to know when the door is closed and it can safely be locked.

Is there a warning light on the instrument cluster to say that a door is not closed ?

My thoughts would be if everything else is working normally then the problem is with the Body Control Module (BCM).
