Oil overfill

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I had the oil changed at a service station and the mechanic added 4.1 liters as indicated in the Ford user manual in the capacity section.

When I checked the level it was above de max mark.

Later I found on the internet that 4.1 liters was for dry fill. And for service fill the amount should be between 3.8 and 4 liters.

So in theory it was overfilled with maximum 0.3 litters.

Should I ask them to drain the extra oil or this amount is not significant?

Model is Ford Fiesta 1.25 SNJC 2017.

Thank you!

I decided not to remove the extra oil as I was only 6mm above the max line. No issues after 150km.

Can someone share how much oil should be used in order to not go above the max line? The model is Ford Fiesta 1.25 60kw 2017
