Sticky Steering Wheel

Featured Replies

Hi

New to the forum so not sure how this works.

I have a Focus ST170 and when the car is cold the steering wheel seems to stick when turning the wheel to the left. After the car has warmed up the steering is ok. I have checked the fluid and there are no leaks, could it be the rack?

Anyone have any idea's?

Thanks in advance.

Dean

there used to be a tech mod on mondeo's for this....replacing bottom steering bolt and coating base of shaft with silicon grease, not 100% if applicable to focus but worth bearing in mind

seems to be a common issue with the st if its physically catching and you can audibly hear it click then its highly likely you need a new rack worth getting checked out
