Fiesta MK8 TDCi excessive gear stick movement

Hello guys.
I have a problem with the gear stick on my mk8 Fiesta.
It has excessive movment when in gear.
There is no vibrations or problem with the gears, just the excessive movment.
Any ideias?

Our 1.0 ecoboost MK8 is similar but not quite as bad as yours. I fitted a short shifter from Pumaspeed which has helped. We have just got used to it.

I think you need to get someone to observe the other end of the cables where they fix to the gearbox whilst you move the lever to see if the play is at the gearbox end or at the bottom of the gear lever under the gaiter
