DaSingh
I keep getting this message on my SMAX is it time to change the battery or can it just be ignored. Car due service and MOT in March but would rather change battery myself if it needs doing.
Eric Bloodaxe
Loads of threads on here about this message popping up on virtually all models. Other makes forums are also full of similar threads. Usual cause is pattern of driving not being compatible with the "intelligent" charging system on modern cars which seldom attain more than 80% state of charge. The issue has been especially common in the last few years during lockdowns, wfh, etc. Normal recommendation is to give the battery a full charging cycle using a "smart" charger such as Maypole, C-tek or Noco from time to time particularly when the car is getting little use or doing only short trips. I'd try that before replacing the battery.
