Upgrading Dash camera

Featured Replies

I need some advice on which fuses to hard wire my dash camera to I have the ignition activated part of the wiring figured out with no problems in the fuse box. But I need a continuous live(Hot) feed from the fuse box, to keep the battery charged. The Car I have is 1.25 Ford Fiesta on 2014.

It is a mid range camera which is all I could afford but it comes with a rear facing camera which will be installed by a garage as I don't have the right tools to complete the job.

This is a link to the Dash camera that I am installing. I hope that this link works.

Thanks

Terry.

I'm not sure why you're worried about finding the correct supplies in the fuse box if a garage is fitting the dashcam.

If you have the fusebox in the attached picture then any fuse numbered 34 to 41 should be live all of the time.

The garage is only fitting the rear facing camera when I can get it booked in, I'm comfortable doing the front camera, and it will save my some money if I can sucssessful do the front one, As I do not have a lot of money to spare.

I have just been out and taken the image of my fuse box as it is now. To starting installing the new dash camera.

It has only confused me more, as trying to match the image above with what is in the car is a challenge.

Thank you in advance.

Terry.

This is the only fuse you have on the row Unofix marked.

Not all fuses and not all relays are fitted in the fuse box. It very much depends on the specification of the individual car, and the country it is sold in to.

The crimp ends on the Fuse tap already fitted in the photo are actually the wrong way around. For safety, the Female crimp end should be on the wire from the fuse tap, and the male (bullet end) crimp should be fitted on the wire that is going to the device.
