2014 Ford Fiesta Overheating. Fan not running.

Featured Replies

I have a 2014 Ford Fiesta, that overheats at idle. It takes about 40 minutes for it to do so. I've narrowed it down to the radiator cooling fan. Here's what I've done to troubleshoot it so far.

1. Checked the fuse and relay.

2. Hooked the fan directly up to the battery.

I haven't checked for potential voltage (though the scan tool did show voltage going to the fan.)

The fan has a control module on it. Do I need to check the module separate from the fan itself?

Thanks!

It helps to know a bit more about your car. Is it red or yellow? If that is classified information, just let us know which engine is in it as there are lots of different ones. You haven't told us if the fan ran when you connected the battery to it.  Could be relevant.

Could be the wiring loom connector corroded at the radiator. Had mine fixed last year.

Could be the little green men from planet Zog. Until we have something more useful than "My Ford is broken" there is no point wasting time on it.
