MK4 Alarm retrofit not working

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm trying to retrofit the intrusion alarm in the interior light. I didn't have the pins needed in one of the BCM connectors 54 and 69 in C2280F, I added them. Ground LIN and 12V, I could measure the 12V and ground with a multimeter.

With some changes in the IPC and the BCM with Forscan it should be able to work but....

I still can't get it to work, did anyone of you manage to get it to work?

Vehicles in the UK come factory fitted with alarms and immobilisers. I'm not sure if there will be much help available on the subject.

@unofix

If an intrusion alarm (I mean the sensors checking for movement inside of the car) is factory fitted, is there someone here maybe who wants to share the BCM and IPC settings from Forscan?

I have the BBS (Battery Backed Security Horn) fitted, the intrusion sensors and added the (missing) pins and wires to the BCM. I also checked for fuses and if everything gets power but still cannot get it to work. So I realy hope somebody here can help!

If somebody with a working intrusion alarm can check I would like to know:

  • which modules you have
  • what settings regarding the alarm are in Forscan?
    • alarm settings
    • central security module

Here is the link to the Focus Mk4 wiring schematics from Ford.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gu7fTMLCJI7hkFRFi-C1UTbdmlTJazsA/view?usp=sharing

Next time I'm working on my car I will take a look and see what settings I can find for the Alarm system.

thanks @unofix! That is really nice of you to share. I have schematics for the Focus but I'll take a look to see if I'm missing something

Hi, could you please share the file again? Looks like link is expired but I would like to take a look.

Thanks in advance :)

Hallo, Did you manage to solve it? I connected it today, but it doesn't work for me either. According to the DTC, it is not configured. Thanks..

Hi @szaszab75 no not yet 😞 I made a wiring loom for the battery backed alarm to test. I think I tried everything according to the wiring schemes.

There must me some difference in the German (and English) cars but I cannot find out what. Maybe a different BCIM? Maybe a missing setting in Forscan?

Sorry I didn't see your post. I wired the horn directly from the BCM. DM me for the schematics

Hi, I have the Forscan settings. I did a BCM reset. Then the DTC does not indicate an error. In principle, there is a Local Interconnect Network New Module Calibration in the Forscan Service mode, you need to run it.

It didn't work for me due to some error. I'll try again with a different version of Forscan.

I ran into it again today. I made a new wiring harness. I also connected the battery horn to see if that was the problem or the lack of it. Unfortunately, it still doesn't work. Any progress for you since then? I enabled all the options in Forscan that might be necessary.

Alarm Sound Type. Vehicle / Security Horn
Central Security M. Not Available/Available

Premieter Alarm Chrime. Enabled Driver
Perrimeter alarm Enabled.
Security Config. Inclination and Intrusion

Do I need anything else?

Hi! Have you managed to activate the central security module since then? Are you still interested in it or not?

Hi, I think it's the specific BCM I have that is the problem. ST and vignale usually have a more sophisticated BCM

Im not so worried about my car being stolen but it would be nice to get it to work ;-)

But placing a new BCM is almost impossible beacause of the Keys.... Pats etc

Hi, No need for a new BCM module, just change these parameters:

Module Enabled: AS-Built. 726-15-01: 0301-0F01!

Central Security Module - Available / 726-17-01   2608(2E08)-007B

Then run the LIN calibration. It should be 100%.

I hope it works out for you too.

I will give it a go, thanks. I think I have all these options set already. I changed them in the visual layout, not in the AS-Built.
What is your BCM model number? Mine is JX6T-15604-BCD

You can't change this in the visual. You have to change these two parameters in AS-Build anyway.

I don't think the BCM module number matters at all.

My number: JX6T-15604-BJH

This line could also be: 726-15-01: 0301-0F02!, but then you will not receive a PUS message in the Fordpass app.

I'll give it a try today or tomorrow! How did you find out?

Some have got it to work with only changing the visual settings but I (and many others) couldn't

I compared many Auto AS-Builds.
