Mk5 Fiesta Project Help?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Absolute Noob here and a total noob when it comes to working on cars.

Recently picked up a cheap Mk5 52 plate Fiesta Zetec TDCI as a bit of a project since it needs some work doing to it and I'd like to learn a bit about working on cars along the way.

Working on interior currently and it came with some recaros from an old Focus ST according to the previous owner (no idea which model etc but they're old)

Naturally the recaros are much wider than the bolt holes in the fiesta, so it's only possible to get the bolts in on one side, leaving the other side unfixed to anything and loose, not ideal.

The previous owner just wedged dumbbell plates on the unfixed mount to keep it in place.

Now I wouldn't mind keeping the recaros but can't see how it'd be possible to bolt them into the standard fiesta bolt holes even with a adaptor plate and runners (if anyone knows any suitable ones that aren't stupidly expensive, please link)

I've been looking at Fiesta ST150 seats but they're all MK6 that I'm finding.

Can anyone advise if the MK6 ST150 seats will fit into my MK5 without any modifications and with the runners that comes with the ST seats?

Or on that topic, do the MK6 fiesta seats fit into MK5's as standard?

Apologies if this is really common knowledge or whatever but I'm new as hell to this and want to try get this car on the road sooner rather than later without blowing stupid money on it.

I can probably upload some pictures at some point of the current recaros once it comes out of the garage.

Cheers

H

52 plate is probably what we'd call a Mk6.  So ST150 seats would be a straight swap.  Or Zetec S seats if you don't want the ST logos.

Ah mate, absolutely buzzing with that. Cheers! Hopefully should be pretty straight forward then.
