New engine? or have it repaired?

Featured Replies

Hi I've got a 2015 fiesta zetec-s red edition 1.0 ecoboost no problems until recently first the turbo started losing power & I read somewhere about changing the oil so I did that but no change & then 2 days later the cambelt failed I since learnt about cleaning to sump out at same time. I'm not sure what damage it's done but would it be worth putting a recon engine or repairing the one that's in it because neither ones going to be cheap. I know it's hard for people to comment without knowing the damage but any advice would be much appreciated thanks

Will be cheaper and safer to fit a new engine - I mean a brand new one, not a used one that's had a jetwash and a wipe over lol.

Once the cambelt fails the damage will be considerable, and you can never be sure that you've cleaned every bit of debris out of the oil ways.

How long have you owned the car?

What and who is it's service history with?
