white smoke on start

Featured Replies

Hi

when i was driving the revs shot up and seemed to get stuck and black smoke. The next morning when starting the car white smoke.

Can anyone please help what this might be. Thanks in advance.

Most likely that the turbo has failed.  Oil is bypassing the turbo oil seals and ending up in the engine and/or exhaust.

Known as a diesel 'runaway' when revs shoot up as the engine burns oil instead of diesel.

Have you checked the oil level?

If it's not burning oil from a turbo fault then it'll be a sticking/leaking injector.
