Mild Hybrids auxiliary belt every 4 years now?

Featured Replies

Just been looking at the service schedules for the mild hybrids. Am I right in assuming the fact the auxiliary belts are recommended to be replaced :

Every 72 000 miles/4 years - Renew (LTS 21 567 5)

Is because they are used in the mild hybrid system?

Anyone know how much it costs roughly from a ford dealership? Presumably it should be similar in price to the pre hybrids?

I checked on whatever ETIS is now called across Fiesta/Focus/Puma and they all have roughly the same mileage and all have 4 years renew advised.

The mild hybrid system is belt driven so presumably Ford have found the additional strain has shortened the belts life.

Yes, I've mentioned the 4 year aux belt on here before.

None of the mild hybrids have reached 4 years old yet though, so haven't seen any prices so far.

Cheers all! I'm heading to the Ford garage this week to sort some issues so might see if they can give me a rough cost just for informations sake.

I suspect the cost will be higher than the "normal" belts because the extra loads (as Alex mentions) will require a stronger material, etc. It will be interesting to find out!

I have an idea the belt replacement interval was around 72k anyway, but for mhev they have introduced the time element as well, as with cambelts?
