2011 fiesta climate control issue

I have 2011 fiesta titanium with climate control. It appears to have an issue with controlling interior temperature. If on low it blows cold but it appears to want to heat all the time even when set at 16 degrees. I'm thinking cabin temperature sensor. Can someone confirm location? I think it may be behind a small grille in the plastic trim below steering wheel around my left knee position. Is this it and how do you remove plastic trim without breaking it?
