2008 2.0tdci s max fuel sender

Hi all recently purchased 2008 s max 2l TDCI the other day it started and cut out , been told it could be fuel sender and the engine starts from a can of fuel with pipe into engine does anyone know how to access these ?

    Have you checked or changed the diesel fuel filter ?

    doesnt have a sender fuel is drawn up by fuel pump on the right hand side of engine. as said fuel filter is first suspect
