The S-Max 2.2 Auto

Featured Replies

Knowing the powershift issues I purposely stayed away from that auto and bought the 2.2 Auto having great reliability reviews! However just 500 miles in on a 13 reg 119k the car started to down shift aggressively from 3rd to 2nd and at stand still in drive and brake applied once break released it jerks into gear intermittently.. So, I had the box serviced and now appears even worse being more frequent ..

Any advice appreciated

??

I am only into the Getrag Powershift transmission - the 6DCT450 which is the wet clutch model

Sorry, can't help as I don't have any experience of the Aisin Warner Trans fitted to your vehicle. It appears to be a pretty decent trans and I don't think there is any thread/post on this Forum that could help you

Have you tried a general Google search.

You say it was serviced - there is no "recommended" service interval - what was actually done - it is an internal filter and you can't fully drain the trans as a fair amount of oil remains in the converter - the best you can do is a "flush" by draining a refilling 2 or 3 times after doing a few miles
