Tail light rubbing

Featured Replies

Hello,

When cleaning the car (st line x) I noticed some paint coming off beside tail light drivers side. Looks like the plastic is rubbing.  Anyone else noticed this and manage to get it sorted?

Cheers.

Not noticed this on either of the MK8’s I’ve owned, but that has to be worth a visit to your local Ford dealer to be resolved under warranty or goodwill. I’m guessing no previous accident damage or repair work to the tailgate?

It'll also be rubbing on the top of the front bumper beneath each headlight due to a rough casting line on the underside of the headlight. Remove the rear light and file down the excess area that is making contact to stop it happening again if it isn't done after paint repair.

The wife's first Mk8 Fiesta suffered headlight rubbing on the front bumper. It was nothing to do with anything needing filing down on hers, it was the headlight mounting brackets that were broken.

Everything was repaired under warranty as the headlight issue was a known fault.
