2015 ford fiesta suddenly loses speed in 5th gear

Featured Replies

Noticed this problem when driving in the 5th gear.
Sometimes the traction light comes on other times it doesnt.

The car suddenly loses speed, even with acceletor pressed fully down. Have to restart the car.
As soon as car is restarted (sometimes have had to do this on motorway) it runs fine till the same thing happens later.

Have had the car serviced and filters replaced but same issue. Any ideas what it could be?

Car is 1.5L diesel if that matters

You need to get the DTCs read, this issue should flag a code

As above, but garages often charge more to read the fault codes than it would cost to buy the fault reading stuff. Hardware about twenty quid, software free or about 6 quid depending on what you are putting the software on (laptop, phone etc) . Forscan software.
