Hi All

Just updated the sync 3  hoping to update the maps via USB once I have two hours free.

The update looks quite nice, but I have lost both the radio icons for each station and the little graphic icons for supermarkets (only showing  blue shopping trolley). Will these return after the map update?

I have the original F8 maps on my 2019 Ford Focus.

What did you use to update?

Ford or Cyanlabs?

One of the updates since 2019 did not have the radio icons, so if this is your first update since 2019 and they are incremental then if you further update it they may return. They did return after the next update to the one that accidently removed them. I don't know about the supermarket icons.

I can't remember what update it was but if you post the new version number, someone may know if that was the one.

Is there a newer version that will be offered when upload the xml??

 

Just had another thought. Go through your Sync Settings and make sure these things are still enabled, they may have been disabled when the update was done.

I think that is the latest one, so it looks like they are not Incremental.

Please list the things? You have not specified them !

If you mean the supermarkets points of interest. That is ticked and shown as a blue shopping trolley, not the name of the shop as before.

 

Make sure the option to 'scroll' titles for radio stations is not selected. This caused the radio icon to vanish for a number of people, myself included.

How do I find that??

On your Sync screen go to settings, and then media player, if you have the older version of software there will be two sliders. One of them will be 'slideshow' it will be on be default, just turn it off. The other will be 'Station Logo' just make sure that is on.

Correct! Got the radio icons back for some of the stations by turning on station logo.

Just need to find tge way to get the supermarket logos back on the maps. Maybe the map update will get them back? Does the map update, also update the database when you search for supermarkets??

 

If past performance is anything to go by, they will return in a day or two as if by magic !

The workings of how or why or if Ford Sync updates work is one of the great mystery's of the 21st century.

It would be a good Idea to check all your customised Settings in the Sync Unit and change them to suit your needs. It maybe changed them all to default settings because you went from Sync 3.3 to 3.4.

I think the same thing happens if you do a Master Reset.
