Fiesta Start Up Problems

Featured Replies

If you guys could advise what my problem that would be great.

I work as a teacher. I’ll start my car of a morning, turns and starts absolutely fine. However, once I finish about 4pm. Come to start the car and it struggles to start, taking 2 tries to start, the odd scratch sounding noise and blows a bit of smoke from the exhaust.

Any advice on what the problem could be? Thank you for your help in advance.

for reference 1.4 diesel Mk7 Fiesta 2010.
start up about 8am and left until about 4pm.

could be starter motor needs replaced, battery needs replaced or alternator is not charging the battery

any one else..

What is the mileage ?

Sounds like an injector problem, but could be quite a number of other issues. Has it had the diesel fuel filter changed in the last year, and does it need a full service ?

Didn’t realise some of the information was wrong/not filled out correctly.

it’s currently on 94,000 miles and have had it since 80,000. Had a full service last year in June.

Provided that the diesel filter was changed at the last service, I would be inclined to suspect the injectors are worn. It would be worth checking with FORScan to see if there are any DTC's stored that might give a clue to the issue.
