strange noises

Featured Replies

hi

doing some work in the garage today and could here these strange noises coming from the car, fiesta active x.like clicking and whooshing.i have seen this mentioned before on the forum, but no one came up with a answer,or i missed it. can someone explain these, and are they normal,i had opened and shut the boot once.  thanks

Totally normal, it's just modules powering up, relays clicking, solenoids whining, fuel pump sucking and various engine parts self testing.

Yes, as Tom says totally normal.

It's just the PGM and the CCM making their usual noises.

PGM poltergeist module 👻        CCM Casper clean-up module 👻

thanks for both replies.so is this normal even though the engine had not been turned on all day.

If you have your keyfob with you yes as the car tries to guess if you might be going to use it. Also yes if you open or close any door, tailgate, bonnet. Also possible for the car to wake up while it does OTA software updates.
