Cold start

In a temperature of -1 degrees C my 2006 diesel Focus turned over and started then died. I tried starting her again, but it would just turn over. Had no choice but to call out the recovery and as soon as they put their booster pack on the battery, she burst in to life. Do I need a new battery or do I need to look at something else. The original battery is about 3 years old.

You can try charging the battery or having it load tested somewhere like KwikFit or Halfords.

But ultimately, it does sound like you'll probably need a new one.

"about 3 years old" - when you get to my advanced age/memory that usually means "5-6 years old".

But if you can find the receipt and it's just UNDER 3 years you can probably get it replaced under warranty (I did this on my last one from ECP).

It's 3 years since the first lockdown this month. 😮

That certainly seems to have been the starting point of a lot of battery problems (and lots of other non-car stuff - but we have another thread for that!😃)
