Repaired -- now non-runner

I took advice and got an OBD2, found a DPF fault and cleared but the fault kept showing the DPF as full of ash.  As it would now run in limp mode I put in a local w'shop. They took several days to do it and assured me that it was now good and 'didn't miss a beat'. The conversation led me to believe that it was done on-car and created a considerable amount of polution

That was on Friday 10 Mar.

Drove it home and parked up.

Today Mon 13 Mar was taking it for a fuel-up, got 200yds from home and it cut out.

Won't restart - code reader shows P0100 MAF but OBD2 can't clear so stranded. I'm wondering if that amount of polution could have had a bad effect on the MAF

UTUBE seems to say it is fairly straightforward to remove the MAF sensor and clean it.

Anyone want to give me wise words

Did they unplug it for some reason and forget to plug it back in? I'd check that first. If it's plugged in, check the plug is clean and it's seated securely, have a little look at the condition of the wires. If all that's fine then sure go ahead and try to clean it and see if that makes any difference. If not then try replacing it.

A MAF fault shouldn't prevent it from starting.

Are you using a generic OBD reader or Forscan?  I suspect there are some hidden codes.

Why haven't you called up the people who did the work first?

consider a DPF delete etc and start from scratch
