Upgrading Stereo in fiesta with Sony navigation system W/ SD

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Im looking to upgrade my stereo in my Ford Fiesta 2014 (MF64FFV) but every website i go to claims there is no solution for my specific infotainment system. But Ive yet to find a real why this wouldn't work.

As mentioned in the title, it has a Sony Sync system with the built in SD card slot, and offers in car navigation. Now, im aware that upgrading or changing the stereo would make me loose these features, which im fine with, as i want to install an apple car play one anyway. But i dont understand why company's like connect2 claim i cant just replace it and loose a few features

Hopefully you can help!

Cheers

Jacob

There isnt really a reason at all as to why it wouldnt work. Just as long as you have a decent mount if it wont fit in the original place, and some adapters if need be. Ive changed my whole head unit to an 11" touchscreen, NO MORE BUTTONS!!!! love it!

Interested on how you get on, so keep us updated 😄

That’s exactly what I was thinking. I had a Renault Clio before unfortunately writing it off. And in that I installed a floating CarPlay screen and I loved it!
I guess the only drawback that I can see, is me being unable to access the settings that are built into the fiesta headunit. Things like ford ecomode, toggling my power fold mirrors, and enabling/disabling traction control. All things I do very infrequent but I would love access to after removing the main headunit.

dynamic sounds has a whole host of facia panels you can buy, like this one

https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/connects2-ct23fd17-ford-fiesta-2008-2017-double-din-stereo-black-fascia-adaptor.html

which should be perfect for installing a double din CarPlay screen.

I’ll keep looking and keep you updated

cheers

Seeming as you've already done it once, doing it again should be fine! There shouldnt be much difference at all 🙂 I was quite cheeky with my head unit and made my own mount for it, so I could have it portrait! Now it looks like a poor mans Tesla inside xD

Thinking about it.... Calling my car a poor mans Tesla, was pretty harsh.... nothing can be as crap as one of those
