Hello all. My exhaust snapped right at the back box, I’ve been online looking for a back box one of those rectangular ones not the normal oval or circular types. When I’ve been under the car looking for a joint so as to know where to separate the exhaust I can’t find any joint. All the exhaust I’ve looked at have about a 25 inch pipe which would connect it to the rest of the exhaust and as I can’t find a joint was wondering if these exhaust come in larger piece. Or do you cut the pipe and fit the new back box over the other pipe. I’m not a pro car person, but will give a car job a go if it’s not ridiculously hard, cos those garages pull your eyes out on prices. Any help would be appreciated. 

From new at the factory exhausts are normally one piece and need cutting for partial replacement. The official workshop manual would give the cutting point for an official Ford replacement part If that is still the original exhaust it's done you well at about 10 years old.

Get a quote from a couple of  a tyre and exhaust specialists like ATS or whatever you have round your way.

Yeah it’s all original pipe, was in pretty rough shape on the back box. The rest of the pipe itself is still in decent condition minus a bit or surface rust. Will be cutting it myself got the back box today, and have pretty much marked an measured it like ten times. Thanks for reply 😉
