Gearbox whistling

Featured Replies

Hey guys, just looking for a bit of advice.

I bought my fiesta 7 months ago it’s a 1.1 zetec 2018.

last week I noticed a quiet whistling sound that I’ve never heard before initially I thought it may be a wheel bearing but I took the car to the dealership I bought it from who stated it’s something with the gearbox and the have to take the full gearbox out and send it off to a specialist. This alone is going to cost me £550 without even fixing the issue. I didn’t buy a two year warranty on this but they cannot tell me if it’s covered until the work is done.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue with the gear box. The sound is more prominent now and louder the faster I go?
