Mk 8.5 fiesta water leak

Featured Replies

Hi, I’ve got a mk 8.5 fiesta had it a few months. Found a water leak in the boot, coming from roof lining. Pulled it down and water tested and it looks like it’s coming from the outside top nsr area where the body sealant has missed. Its where the roof meets the rear of the car. Anyone else had this issue or seen it before?

If the answer is yes, will that make it OK ?

The car is brand new just take it back to the Ford dealer and let them sort it.

Yeah it is in warranty, was only asking to see if any one had seen this problem or heard of another area. See if it was something I can sort out

I bought a Fiesta ST-line in the spring of 2019, I didn't realise I had a leak until the bad weather arrived, the leak was on the passenger side running down the A pillar, in bad weather every morning I had a small puddle of water, luckily I had rubber mats, to be fair the dealer was pretty good, had about 3 windscreen reseals, but still leaked, eventually it was traced to a small hole in the bodywork, that needed a weld, they wanted me to contact a bodyshop, but they were not interested as it was a leak, I contacted Ford UK which made things move quicker, I wanted to return the car, to cut a long story short, I drove a Focus as  a courtesy car and liked the drive, wasn't sure about the looks though, it put me off the Fiesta they took it back and now have the Focus since 2020, no leaks so far.
