ford fiesta 1.25 sony head unit (audio muted)

Featured Replies

so i bought a ford fiesta 1.25 last week and gone to try connect my phone to it via the phone button and its coming up as (audio muted)

i am unsure if someone has changed the head unit to something else but the last owner does not know and neither do i. The head unit installed is the Sony sat nav head unit

also im not sure if this makes a difference but the car has a (my key) function installed and i dont have the master key to unlock it so is going into ford in the coming weeks so want to see if i can sort it myself before asking ford.

thanks for any help

cory

The bluetooth phone module was an optional extra. For those cars without it fitted the phone button just mutes the audio.

check out ebay for the bluetooh modules which can be found for around £25

Hi thanks for the fast reply. If i bought this would it connect straight into something or would i have to buy something it would clip into. Is there any videos or tutorials online to do this? Thank you for help

Also, Forgot to mention that the car is a 2013 Mk7

I'm not very familiar with a 2013 Ford model 'Thomas' perhaps you might update your profile to include more info ? 🤔

Would i have to get a wiring conversion or is there something that the bluetooth module will just clip into? i can provide photos if needed. Thanks

Hi Cory,

You are going to need a bluetooth module like D1BT-14D212-??

The last two letters are the revision

Also the wiring harness like AV5T-14C575-B??

and the mic of course

that’s perfect. So if i order one of both it should work?

What do you mean by the mic? thank you for all the help

I give absolutely no guarantee that it will work, only that I suggest that those parts are probably the most suitable for your model.

I'm assuming that you were intending to use the bluetooth system to make phone calls. You will need the microphone otherwise its going to be difficult for people to hear you 🤣

Oh right yeah that makes sense 😂😂

i’m going to try this thank you so much for the help!

Hi mate

Both of the items came today and i’ve gone to instal it but i can’t find where to plug all the connectors into. Do you know of a diagram or tutorial i can follow? Failing that what would be the best place to take it to to get it done? cheers
