Hello, I'm having a issue with my mk5 2008 Fiesta Ghia. When the drivers door is closed I'm getting the drivers door warning light on my dash. Does anyone know where the door sensor is located on the mk5? Tried looking everywhere online and can't find the answer.

Aahhh, there's your problem, try looking at you car instead of online LOL Most courtesy light switches are located in the door jamb and look like a black springy thing...

The door sensor is in the locking mechanism, and access is by removing door trim, exterior door handle, and panel for window winder etc.  A common fault unfortunately, micro switch seems inaccesible, and not a simple replacement.

Replacement door locks are not cheap, so first, disconnect battery, then disconnect connector between B post and door by the hinges, and check that connector is clean and dry, and possibly spray with some switch cleaner. Ensure reconnected securely.  Another possibility is a broken core in the cable assembly.  Outside chance the connector to the GEM may be dirty, again with battery disconnected, remove and replace the plugs checking for any grot or broken cores.

 

This is a passenger side lock for a Fusion, but Fiesta may be identical
