Can’t source a wheel speed sensors wiring loom pigtail

Featured Replies

As you can see the wiring loom section of my wheel speed sensor is corroded on one of the wires.

The corrosion was too close to the plug to repair the wire, so I ripped the top portion of the pigtail off.

I cannot find the top portion of the plug/pigtail anywhere online so I cannot buy one to patch it in.

Ive also rang all of the breaker yards local to me and I’m not having any luck there surprisingly

I’m not replacing the full wire loom going to all wheels. That’s expensive and a massive chore. If I cannot source one, would I be able to cut the full plug out all together and bridge it with wire?

I'd advise against removing the plug altogether.

Just about every pigtail for repairs can be found on Aliexpress, it takes a bit of finding. Your local Ford dealers, parts department should be able to order you one, and even at Ford prices it will be cheaper than replacing the whole harness.

I’ll try searching Ali express! I hadn’t actually thought of that.

Will I be able to order it from Ford though? I assume they’d only supply the full harness as they probably don’t want you splicing new connectors into pre-existing looms?

Ford will sell you what ever you want to buy. If it has a part number and they can get it then they will sell it. They have no interest in what you do with your car, it's not there problem.

Ok so I managed to find one on Aliexpress for £6 with postage. It’s going to take a few weeks though.

I also rang lookers ford and they said that I could not buy the pigtail individually (I gave them the part number). They said that I could buy the full harness for £700 if I wanted. Hah!
