Ford Focus 18 plate Hazard light issue.

Featured Replies

Hopefully someone can help.

Hazards come on and off through the switch without ignition on. With ignition on switch won't work,  aslo if hazards are on and then turning ignition on, hazards won't turn off. It appears that with the ignition on it seems to bypass the hazard switch.

Any ideas please.

The best thing to do is download FORScan on your laptop and connect to the OBDII port with a vLinker FS cable.

You will be able to check for any Ford specific DTC's, which I don't think you will find, but more importantly you will be able to live monitor the operation of the Hazard switch.

The fault could be with the switch, but it could also be with the BCM (you want to hope not).

FORScan: https://forscan.org/download.html

vLinker FS cable (ONLY £28.88 today) : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vgate-vLinker-Adapter-FORScan-MS-CAN/dp/B0952P4MLP
