Turbo

Featured Replies

Morning - I am not mechanically minded at all.

I have a 1.8tdci 57 plate S Max

I have discovered a hole in the intercooler hose leading to the engine - this has caused thick black smoke to emit from the exhaust and no power through the turbo.

when checking this in idle and pressing the accelerator the pipe expands, when driving I can hear air escaping the pipe.

I will replace this hose, however I wondered what would have caused this issue in the first place? Also will replacing this hose fix my issue (if anyone has had this experience.

Thanks for your time.

OPW?

Yes, most likely but Alex is touchy about me asking them to fill their profiles in. It seems that he prefers to have us replying to OPW's 🙄
