Hello all,

My engine ECU is dead and trying to identify replacement to clone.

I know the prefix-base number-suffix part number system Ford uses.

What I want to know is are the ECUs interchangeable if they have the same prefix-base number ? Or do I have to find the same suffix as well?

Eg. I know part number is BV61-12A650-A

and have seen some replacements with suffix -NG or -EGG

    You need to source the exact replacement, you can go up after the "A" if it's only two letters, IE if you're and AB you can replace with AC AD AE etc etc but don't go down
