Ford sync touch freezing black screen

Featured Replies

Below is the problem I'm getting since January, it had been in for a gearbox issue, where the battery had been taken off for a day or two.

Master reset freezing
Soft reset works after system freezing and black screen.

Valet mode not working.

Freezing on master reset.

Fordpass, connectivity won't connect, you just get the loading icon.

WiFi and automatic updates not saving settings after turning engine off and locking the car and reentry.

System updates are saying up-to-date when searching on WiFi  but are not. Ver 3.4.21194 latest ver 3.4.22200.

USB update downloaded and tried around 6 times on different USB drives and computers.

Error code: VER ERRO8 always after around 20 minutes updating. (Not wanting this doing, in my opinion if the sync worked it would install.)

The black screens has been it and miss after the soft reset.

Thanks

It ran out in March but the problem started in January, with the maps playing up and the phone losing settings in the sync.

I do have an email when I contacted Ford in January but I don't know yet if they'll accept the problem started then.

I'm just thinking if the APIM is playing up, it would be worth having it done under a warranty claim as they're expensive to replace.

A MY20 APIM can't be reformatted so you can't "refresh" it with cyanlabs very easily either.

Very strange how the Master reset freezers on the continue button and the connectivity in the fordpass just won't load, you just get the spinning load icon and now I've noticed the valet mode won't work, the valets never been set up as far as I know, so I thought I would have got an option to put a pass number in, didn't even get that far, unless it's all related. I was only testing Valet mode to see if it worked but it just froze as the master reset does

Ford dealer, saying it's nothing to do with having the battery off.

I always thought you'd have run the car for a while after the batteries been removed.

Battery being disconnected shouldn't affect the APIM unless it was actually updating at the time.

Looking more like the APIM.

Same code after 20 minutes of driving via USB, tried differents USB stick and computers,  tried it over WIFI which is impossible because it loses WiFi settings after turning off engine, obviously it shouldn't, Supposed to do it in the background.
