You need to use FORScan and read the DTC's

Just guessing at possible causes very rarely works.

FORScan: https://forscan.org/download.html

vLinker FS cable: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vgate-vLinker-Adapter-FORScan-MS-CAN/dp/B0952P4MLP

FORScan used with the vLinker FS cable is the closest you can get to Ford Dealer diagnostic software. It reads both the High Speed and the Medium Speed Canbus.

I've just been through a very similar process with my mk5.  Fuel delivery is the first thing to check, and fuel pressure is the place to start.  If (like mine) your fuel rail does not have a schrader valve, you will need a fuel pressure gauge with the correct fuel connectors (mine has Bundy connectors - the ones where you press in the sides and pull it off, which most of the gauges seem not to have).  One that worked for me is from Amazon, with their stock code B07TKX3C6V .  At sixty-odd pounds, it's more expensive than most, but it is at least accurate.  But if you get one, double-check which type of connector you have.  On mine, the feed has a white connector, and the return is red.  You need to use the feed.  One slight drawback of that particular gauge is that it's calibrated MPa, so you will need to do a conversion from, say 50Psi to whatever it is in MPa.  On mine, the gauge went to about 1 O'clock, which was fine.  Ultimately, though, I found that my fuel injectors were producing a very poor spray pattern - more like a dribble, to be honest.  But that's a harder test than fuel pressure, so I'd start with that.  Sadly, my mk5 does not have a fuel pressure sensor (I don't know about your mk7), and that would have helped a lot.  Without a sensor, you cannot get a warning code from the computer.
