2012 Focus MK3 - Water In Boot Repair

Featured Replies

Hi.

I have the infamous issue for water getting into the spare wheel well of the Focus MK3.

Does anybody know of any people / places in Manchester I can take this to to be repaired?

I'm aware the rear bumper had to be removed in the process to access the vents behind it.

The vehicle has rear sensors - will this make the repair or removal of the rear bumper any more complicated when it comes to it?

Is there any potential quotes for work carried out just so I've got a gauge on costs?

Thank you for reading.
Any information is always appreciated.

Hi if it helps ihave just done the leak in my mk3 its  very easy  to remove the bumber  you can unclip the reversing sensers from the bumper ,to remove the bumperits ony two bolts and three  plastic clips underneath   and you also have to remove the rear lighits  from  in the boot screws top  and bottom , revealing some push in clips on the bumper remove these carfully ,i would advise sealing the rubber on the lamps when reinstalling .You can get new vents on ebayhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393396546042andhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393396575059 but beware they are left and right handed hence two items,  if you try to get the old ones ot the clips break you can seal round with sealent  whithout removing  i also found the gromet round the rear wiperhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393427125040 was  leaking  the hardest bit to replace this was removing the trim  there are screws behind  two grab handles you have remove the centre to revel the screws it can be a pig there are lots of  videos on you tube
