Mk6 Coolant Outlet Torque Settings

Featured Replies

Mk6 1.4 Petrol 2006.

Fools rush in.

I removed the coolant distribution outlet from the ignition coil side of the engine, looking for the thermostat. Cue instant bafflement as there was no thermostat or place to put one.

Now I know the thermostat is under the alternator (whose bright idea was that?).

I have refitted the coolant outlet to the head and torqued the bolts to 20nm.

Does anyone know the specific torque settings for this coolant distribution outlet on the head? Haynes manual does not have these.

Thanks.

Nvm. The Haynes manual does have it listed in the Engine repair section, not the cooling section.

20nm is the correct torque setting for these bolts.
