Tail gate struts.

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone

Is it possible to repair the gas struts for the tail gate. I know it will probably be cheaper to buy new ones but would be interested to know.

Mikey.

It's possible.  Struts can be re-gassed, although not at home with basic tools.  They may also have weak seals that need replacing first.

SGS Engineering offer strut regassing.  I don't know how much they'd charge, you'd have to contact them to find out.

Top man, just Googled them. I will let you know how I get on.

Nice one.

I replaced the struts on my Focus a while back, they cost me £12 brand new! There's no way any 'labour' to repair anything would be less than that...

I reckon you’re right but I will be interested.

Yes, SGS Engineering, had 3 different tailgate sets off them and all spot on
