2014 1.0 ecoboost fiesta Low Oil Pressure

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

new here so not sure if im doing this right but im in  hurry to get this issue sorted out. Hoping one of you lovely clever lot can come up with a brilliant and cunning plan.

So the problem is a low oil pressure only first thing in the morning. Now i know what this is and whats causing it, i just need ideas on what the best course of action is. Car has covered 59k

We planned on selling the car last month but then this happened.

So in need the simplest way possible of cleaning the oil pick up. Has anyone cleaned one of these without removing the sump?

I know the oil pick up cap can be removed from the pump to allow removal of the gauze and to be cleaned but the process of getting to it is not a quick one.

The oil has been changed 3 times now and its getting slightly better each time but tis just not enough.

Has anyone managed to get to the pick up through the oil drain plug hole in the sump to clean the gauze?

Have been quoted £700 for new oil pump and belt which honestly didnt seem too bad but i dont want to do that until iv exhausted all other possibility's.

Checked the turbo and all is well so far but cant leave it much longer so any idea will be much appreciated.

Sadly the situation is "too little too late" The engine will have already suffered damage and is living on borrowed time.
