2005 Ford Ranger Burnt rear brakes

Featured Replies

Greetings.

Recently took my car to a machanic for a brake job. We agreed to buy some parts on ebay (brake load sensing walve) it is 10x cheaper that original part. After that it all worked great but  handbrake did stick and kept one wheel locked after a let it sit for a weekend. Thought to myself well  i have to bring that car for a wheel alignment anyway so dont use handbrake and it will go back in fiew days.  Ofcourse unthinkable happens after collecting 2 empty pallets(parked on a hill so had to use my hadbrake) and on mu way home i see smoke coming out of rear left tire. So rear left drums are burnt brake cylider does no extend(not seezed) brake load sensing valve coocked itself and have to be replaced aswell

I know i know i get what i paid for but when i went under my car i saw that rear drums are being fed pressure by one pipe whitch is splitted by a T junction connector(if i`m correct) that is why i`m posting here.

So if that brake load sensing vlave broke or caused brakes to extend would both rear drums caught on fire? Or  a garage won`t admit that they did something when thay put those brakes together ?

I cant get this out of my mind. Could comone shine a light on this ?

Apriciate any thoughts.

Thanks
