Hi,

So cars is on 50,000 miles. We are 2nd owners.

It came up with a fault at the beginning of 2023. We found out it was the crank position sensor. So did a swap using a non genuine Ford part. Worked for a week and then issue arose again which was engine light, the revs in idle flutter from about 500 to 1000.

We got a genuine Ford part and it was running fine for a week until, the same issue arose. Starting up took a slight bit longer than unusual. Delay in startup basically. Revs bouncing from 500 to 1000 in idle, and engine sounding like a misfire.

Did another scan and it threw up the code P0016:78-AE Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position
Correlation - Bank 1 Sensor A.  So from previous error we got a Ford genuine part and fitted it. After clearing the code and the new cam sensor the card did not like it and was doing the same issues.

We then let the car sit for a few hours and then after startup it was fine. one 30 min drive home it was fine. Took it out for another run and on the way back the revs started fluttering and so did the idle.

Now tye engine light has come on, all symptoms are back and I don't know.

It's the fact that it's intermittent with the revs.

I have cleaned out the connectors to so still stuck.

Only fault being picked up is sensor.

I need some help please. Anyone.

Thank you in advance.
