Hi, I purchased a fiesta 1.4 tdci 2009 about 4 weeks ago from a garage.
I drove the car for 2 weeks with no issues but after doing 80mph the engine malfunction light came on and it went into limp mode.
the car came with a 6 months external warranty so I took it to a garage who diagnosed an injector.
I had the car back today and drove 1 mile and the same thing has happened and again into limp mode.
It’s not showing any faults on the reader.

Generic code readers don't read Ford specific DTC's in most cases.

Use FORScan on a Windows laptop and a good ELM327(modified) cable or the new vLinker FS cable. If the car is in limp mode there has to be a DTC.

Did they tell you or give you the fault code that pointed them in the direction of the injector?

I’m not too sure?

I had the car back yesterday and only managed 1 mile before the same problem happened again!
they reconnected the injector today and it seems to be ok…for now

On the off chance it could off been a bad injector that was fitted. If the car is still under the 6 month warranty then i would be telling them you want it sent to a ford garage for it to be properly diagnosed as it's a recurring fault that they can't seem to fix. I would also be asking them for the fault code they are getting on their computer just incase they are trying to fob you off.

In the 4 weeks you have had the car when did the engine light first come on?

Did you buy it from a dealer or a car sales place?
