Nimrodmk8
What's the best way to remove the green? I was going to use washing up liquid, I noticed it today when I filled up with fuel, it's on the black surround, also keep trying to remove it from the tailgate channel near the hinges, I tried a toothbrush to get behind the hinges and rubber sheath for the cables, I drive the car all week so not just standing all week and the weathers improved but still getting it, any sensible ideas appreciated, thank you. Ian Lanc
I have it build up on the passenger side, for me I just use a bathroom mouse, spray it on and leave for ten minutes, then use an old toothbrush to get into all the corners & tight spots, then rinse away, after that.... wash the car thoroughly & dry it, regrease all the hinges, always done in an early morning so the mouse doesn't dry up. Using washing up liquid is a bad idea because it contains such high amounts of salt.
59bhp
Something specialist like AutoSmart G101 all purpose cleaner or AutoGlym all purpose cleaner. Alternatively, buy some cheap all purpose cleaner from the supermarket for £1 and dilute it 5ml in a 500ml spary bottle
TomsFocus
I get this building up the scuttle panel. Seems to be mainly the North East corner that gets it worst. I've even considered turning the car round every couple of weeks to get a bit more sun on it. No idea if that would work though. With the scuttle being rough textured and obscured by wipers and bonnet etc, I haven't found anything that can clean it fully.

Just annoying, never had it on previous cars, this time of year wouldn't expect it either, last year I had it on the rubber at the top of the door where the window slides up, looked horrible, I used a thin packer and a cloth with window cleaner, it did work, but lost the packer inside the door.

(It's supposed to be ok on paintwork too (our static van has been fine with it for 16 years) but I'm wary of it getting on the car paintwork.) 1

Just a quick google...... Bleach will damage the paint and trim on your car. Bleach will degrade rubber seals. Bleach will make plastic go lighter. Bleach strips wax off. Bleach can also cause staining.

Toxic and highly flammable and when ignited its very hard to put out, don't ask me but I know, poured it on our Pit Tips and lit it, holy did it go up, luckily it burnt itself out and didn't get the chance to spread to nearby farmers fields. It's simply just Petrol and expanded polystyrene, loads of polystyrene melted into the petrol until it resembles the thickness of gloss paint.
